Adalyn turned 6 years old today. I remember 6 years ago. We were living in Lenexa, KS and it was frigid out. Our family of 3 had expanded by one. It was an uncomfortable feeling being split apart with Ben at home with Grandma and Chelsea and I at the hospital with Adalyn. Although, she wasn’t actually named Adalyn yet. It took us a couple hours to decide on the name. “Lola” was the other competitor.
Today we went for the traditional birthday bike ride. Adalyn wanted to see big buildings, art and Cleveland Park. We biked to the top of Richardson St garage to see panoramic views of downtown Greenville, went to Art Crossing and looked in the windows because they were all closed, then headed to Cleveland Park. On the way home, we stopped in Falls Park and took pictures on the rocks in front of the waterfalls.
This afternoon, Adalyn went out to lunch with Chelsea, picked out art supplies at Hobby Lobby and had a Starbucks hot chocolate date.
“Best birthday ever!” was overheard several times so I’ll chalk it up as a win!
